Celebrities who managed to keep their babies a secret

Elijah Wood recently let it slip that he's now a father of two! In his 'My Monday Morning' profile for the Wall Street Journal, the 'Yellowjackets' actor was asked what time he starts his day, and Wood shared that he gets an early start with his two little ones—marking the first time he has stated that he and partner Mette-Marie Kongsved have two children. "We've got a 3-year-old son and a 14-month-old daughter, and she wakes us up pretty early. I like getting up early, I like starting the day," he shared. Wood also spoke on his private nature in the interview, including his private Instagram account. "I wanted to be able to share photos that I didn't necessarily want to share with the world," the 'Lord of the Rings' alum explained. "An account that's public-facing would really change what I share." He added, "It's not like I'm sharing anything that I wouldn't want to go out, but I'm a relatively private person." When it comes to the press, it's hard for celebrities to keep anything secret, let alone the imminent arrival of a child. Yet it's important to lots of celebrities that their children have privacy and that they are shown respect when it comes to their private lives and family home. Check out this gallery to see which other celebrities managed to dodge the media in the run-up to their kids' arrival, many of whom didn't have the privacy of a pandemic!

What The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Actors Look Like in Real Life

Here's what the cast looks like when they're not in their Middle-earth costumes. One of the most anticipated shows of 2022—and surely the most expensive–is Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a prequel set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Per Prime Video, the show will "take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness." The characters that populate The Rings of Power are elves, dwarves, harfoots, and some humans. But out of their Middle-earth costumes, these fantastical characters are actors and actresses from around the world. Here, see what the cast of The Rings of Power looks like in real life:

Demanding actors who changed how movies turned out

Actors can be hard to please and are often unhappy with various aspects of a particular production, script, or character. In some cases, they even end up insisting that something be changed until their directors eventually give in to keep them happy. A report from The Wall Street Journal counted all the words Keanu Reeves said in 'John Wick: Chapter 4' and found that in 169 minutes he utters only 380 words of dialogue—almost a third of which consists of just one-word lines like, "Yeah"—but director Chad Stahelski says it was the actor's own choice. Stahelski revealed that Wick doesn’t have a lot of dialogue because “Mr. Reeves stripped out roughly half the dialogue written for his character in the initial script.” As it stands, the longest line of dialogue that Reeves has is in a scene with co-star Hiroyuki Sanada, who plays Shimazu Koji, where Wick says, “You and I left a good life behind a long time ago, my friend." To be fair, Reeves is doing a whole lot without words in the film, which is also experiencing a huge box office debut regardless of his lack of dialogue. In the following gallery, go behind the scenes of some of your favorite movies to discover which actors changed the outcome of a movie by demanding things go their way!

Aleister Crowley, the English king of the occult

Few names have lived on in infamy to the extent that Aleister Crowley's has. Known just as much for his shocking erotic poetry as he is for his lifelong fame as a cult leader, Crowley is a confusing antihero of England who, despite being labeled as "the wickedest man in the world" during his own time, still makes lists of the greatest Britons to have ever lived. A notorious libertine and champion of contemporary interest in the occult, Aleister Crowley has fascinated historians, students of social behavior, and scholars of cults and religions for years. Ready to start unpacking this enigma of a man? Then read on to learn all about Aleister Crowley.

Funny to flop: Adam Sandler's career in film

Adam Sandler is one of those comedic actors that is often loved or hated. With his own particular brand of humor, he's created hilarious films that have stood the test of time, along with critical flops that no one remembers (and for good reason). Though he now seems to be on the upswing, with widely acclaimed releases such as 'Uncut Gems' (2019) and 'Hustle' (2022), his film career reads like a ratings rollercoaster. That rollercoaster was deemed worthy of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on March 27, as Sandler accepted the honor in the company of all the comedy greats he has worked with and inspired. The likes of Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Chris Rock, Conan O'Brien, Idina Menzel, Steve Buscemi, Ben Stiller, and more helped celebrate the actor at the ceremony in Washington, DC, while getting in more than a few jabs about his biggest flops too. Sandler closed the show with his own hilarious speech: "Thank you for creating a delusional, psychotic man who is now the proud owner of the 2023 Mark Twain Award for athleticism, math, sexual prowess, guitar virtuosity, and best cheeks smell. Good night, keep lying to yourselves everybody, and God bless America." Inspired by critical ratings from Rotten Tomatoes, click on to find out which of his films are comedy classics, and which ones we're better off forgetting.

These weird celebrity baby names will make you cringe

No one wants their kid to have the same name as everyone in the classroom, but some celebrities take it way too far. Sometimes only one of the children draws the shorter stick, but more often than not all siblings have to endure growing up with names like Seven or Pilot Inspektor. After welcoming son X Æ A-12, Grimes and Elon Musk had a baby girl whom they named Exa Dark Sideræl in December 2021. More than a year later, the musician shared an update to their youngest child's name. "She's Y now, or 'Why?' or just '?' (But the government won't recognize that)," Grimes tweeted on March 23, "curiosity, the eternal question, .. and such." The news followed a rare photo of the baby girl wearing a red onesie and rocking neon hair, matching her mother. From cities to fruits and animals, celebrities' creativity has no limit when it comes to choosing a name for their child. Some A-listers have been doing it way before it was considered the cool thing to do. Click through this gallery to see the most bizarre celebrity baby names!

What's the story of Austin Butler, the star from 'Elvis'?

The most unexpected celebrity couples of recent times

There's been a change in the wind in Hollywood, and celebrities we thought we had figured out are now crossing aesthetics, genres, interests, and generations to surprise us with A-list combinations that sound like they were randomly plucked out of a hat. Some of these unlikely celebrity romances might be a reflection of the completely unpredictable times we're living in, where life and death situations have become fearfully closer, and thus where people are no longer wasting time with preconceived notions and anything other than what makes them feel good. These celebrities are embracing love where they find it, whether that means taking a romantic chance on an old best friend or going on a date with someone completely out of their normal sphere. It's understandable that Selena Gomez had laid low in her romantic endeavors after the media circus of dating Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, but it seems she's back in the saddle and has most recently been linked to Zayn Malik. She and the former One Direction member were spotted out and about walking “hand in hand” and “making out” at a New York City restaurant. Malik bolstered the news as he followed Gomez on Instagram, and he only follows 18 accounts total. It's not such an unexpected match, however, as fans have found a clip back in 2013 where Gomez was asked on the red carpet which member of One Direction she'd most want to kiss, and she replied, "Oh no," then answered quickly, "Zayn." Malik was also later wrapped up in the drama between Gomez and then-boyfriend Justin Bieber as Bieber accused Gomez of cheating on him with Malik. Malik of course was most recently linked with Gigi Hadid, with whom he shares a daughter. Click through to see more of the most unexpected relationships of the past couple years.

Actors who hated their iconic on-screen costumes

Part of the magic of being an actor is completely disappearing into a role. Sometimes, however, that magic act relies heavily on a physical transformation as opposed to merely adopting new behaviorisms. Physical transformations like getting buff can have the added bonus of, well, being buff, but costumes are where things get a little annoying. And by "a little," we mean a lot. From having to sit through eight torturous hours worth of makeup, to sweating dangerous amounts inside full body suits during long shoot days, many actors' most iconic roles also feature the costumes they hated most. Click through to see which costumes actors hated the most, and why exactly they were so tormented by them.
